Sagrantino originated from the region of Umbria in Italy and is often described as elusive and mysterious. Our Sagrantino is from the Tracy Hills AVA which is located between 100 and 500 feet in elevation, and sits on rich, well-drained alluvial soils. The climate in the region is known for constant winds and sunny days that contribute to the high quality of the grapes grown in the area. Our Sagrantino has enticing aromas of cherry cola, black pepper, dark chocolate, and a hint of earthiness that accompanies the rich texture on the palate. Sagrantino is a food friendly wine that matches nicely with most Italian foods: pizza, pasta, sausage, mushroom dishes and anything with black truffles.
